Data used
CacheCap receives the name and coordinates of a destination chosen in another app or entered manually. It reads Garmin Connect’s known watches, connection status and watch app availability.
Local storage
The phone stores the last cache whose sending was confirmed by the SDK, the selected watch identifier and onboarding completion. The watch stores its last valid cache. This information supports transfer and navigation. Android backup of these data is disabled.
Garmin Connect’s role
The Connect IQ SDK 2.4.0 passes the name and coordinates to Garmin Connect, which handles communication with the watch. Garmin Connect is a third-party app governed by Garmin’s privacy policy. CacheCap operates no server and receives no data on a remote service of its own.
Location and permissions
The Android app requests no permissions, including no phone location access. The watch app uses its GPS and compass to calculate distance and direction. CacheCap does not send that watch position or heading back to the phone.
Advertising and external links
CacheCap has no advertising, usage analytics or account of its own. Opening Connect IQ or supporting the project via Ko-fi launches an external service at your request. Those services apply their own policies, including to any browsing or payment information.
Retention and deletion
Local data remain until replaced or deleted. Clear CacheCap app data in Android settings to remove the destination, selected watch and preferences. Uninstall the Garmin app to remove its saved cache. For data processed independently by Garmin or Ko-fi, use their data controls and contact channels.
Protecting local data
Phone preferences are stored in the Android app’s private storage. Backup and device-to-device transfer of these data are disabled. CacheCap relies on Garmin Connect for transport to the watch.

These web pages are hosted on BHN logic. The website loads Plausible analytics and remembers your theme preference. These website features are separate from the CacheCap apps.
