Data used
CacheCap receives the name and coordinates of a destination chosen in another app or entered manually. It reads the list of watches known to Garmin Connect, their connection status and the availability of the app on the watch.
What stays local
Your phone stores the last cache whose transmission was confirmed by the SDK, the selected watch identifier and onboarding completion. The watch stores its last valid cache. This information is used only for transfer and navigation. Android backups of this data are disabled.
The role of Garmin Connect
The Connect IQ 2.4.0 SDK sends the name and coordinates to Garmin Connect, which handles communication with the watch. Garmin Connect is a third-party app governed by Garmin’s policy. CacheCap operates no server and receives no data on a remote service of its own.
Location and permissions
The Android app requests no permissions, including phone location. The watch app uses its GPS and compass to calculate distance and direction. CacheCap does not send this position and bearing data back to the phone.
Advertising and external links
CacheCap has no advertising, usage analytics or separate user accounts. Opening Connect IQ or supporting the project on Ko-fi launches an external service at your request. These services apply their own policies, including to any browsing or payment data.
Retention and deletion
Local data is retained until replaced or deleted. Clear CacheCap’s data in Android settings to delete the destination, watch choice and preferences. Uninstall the Garmin app to delete the cache stored on the watch. For data processed independently by Garmin or Ko-fi, use their data management and contact options.
Local data protection
Phone preferences are stored in the Android app’s private storage. Backups and transfers of this data between devices are disabled. CacheCap relies on Garmin Connect to transmit data to the watch.

These web pages are hosted by BHN Logic. In production, the website uses Plausible through analytics.doc2sail.com to measure traffic without tracking cookies. Form field contents are not sent to Plausible. The website does not store a theme preference. Technical cookies protect the contact forms and display confirmation after sending. This website processing is separate from the CacheCap apps.
